Learning and Access to Ubiquitous Digital Tools and Resources


The purpose of this Project is to describe the impact on learners where technology is ubiquitous and students are able to access digital tools and learning resources on-demand.

This project attempts to answer the following questions:

  • How are the outcomes of student learning impacted in an upper elementary school setting where wireless technology is ubiquitous and students have on-demand access to digital tools and resources to complete inquiry-based work?
  • How are the outcomes of student learning different for groups of “at risk,” specific needs students, namely (1) students who are identified as “English as a Second Language” and (2) highly able students identified as “gifted”, compared to students who are not identified as being at risk?
  • How does teacher practice and the learning environment change with anytime access to mobile computing?
